The Challenge
Jefferson County Public Schools, the second largest school district in Colorado, managed curriculum through document-driven processes. Curriculum mapping, aligning local, state, and federal standards to unit plans and lesson plans were too complex to manage effectively without purpose-built software. Teachers needed a way to see their full year at a glance and ensure their curriculum aligned with all applicable standards.
The Solution
Built C-CAP, a custom web application for managing curriculum and standards. The system includes curriculum standards mappings at federal, state, and local levels, complex input forms for unit plans and lesson plans, and a custom schedule view showing the year-at-a-glance for each teacher.
The Results
Jeffco's teachers gained a purpose-built tool that replaced document-driven curriculum management with a structured, searchable, standards-aligned system. The year-at-a-glance view gives teachers immediate visibility into gaps and alignment across the school year.
