Freemotion Fitness

Progressive web app (PWA) for creating and managing service orders for faulty gym equipment.

Summary

Progressive web app (PWA) used by gym staff and repair technicians to report and resolve equipment failures faster, with SMS notifications, photo upload, and full cloud deployment for a commercial fitness equipment manufacturer.

The Challenge

Freemotion Fitness manufactures commercial exercise equipment installed in gyms worldwide. When a piece of equipment broke down, gym staff had no standardized way to report the problem. Service orders were created manually via phone calls, emails, or paper forms, leading to slow response times, lost requests, and no visibility into repair status.

The Solution

Led a team of two developers to build a progressive web application (PWA) as a minimum viable product. Anyone working in the gym can quickly create a service order with complex input forms, field validation, and photo upload from their phone or tablet. The app sends SMS text messages to repair technicians and emails to the main service center when service orders are created, scheduled, or closed. Full cloud deployment.

The Results

Freemotion gained a complete digital workflow for equipment service, from problem discovery to resolution. Gym staff can report issues in seconds, technicians are notified instantly via SMS, and the service center has full visibility into every active service order. The PWA runs on any device without app store installation.
