Meet the co-founders and directors.
Joe brings 30+ years of experience in software development, including 25+ years consulting and 20+ years leading and managing development teams. He has worked on and led successful projects for organizations like the U.S. Air Force, AT&T, Rabobank, Kaiser Permanente, Dell, 3M, Jeffco Public Schools, the State of Texas, and more.
As a recognized leader in hiring, retaining, and managing high performing software development teams, Joe has been quoted in Forbes, Inc., CIO, InformationWeek, Network World, IT World, U.S. News and World Report, USA Today, Reader's Digest, The Seattle Times, and more.
Joe graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas in 1991. His development skills have changed to keep pace with the market, going from SAS in the early 1990s, to classic ASP in the late 1990s, and to C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server in this century. His current favorite tools are C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Azure, and Kanban.
In his free time, Joe enjoys being outdoors - hiking and rowing - with his wife and co-founder, Darien, and their three children.
Darien Wilson brings over 20 years of experience in business strategy, marketing, and organizational development. As the co-founder of Volare Software, Darien has a proven track record of helping startups and businesses refine their strategies, grow their digital presence, and drive operational success.
Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including market positioning, branding, and content marketing. Darien excels in bridging the gap between business and technology, crafting marketing strategies that align with organizational goals and drive long-term growth. She has also built and nurtured social media audiences, improving engagement through targeted campaigns and compelling content creation.
Darien thrives in dynamic environments where she can apply her skills to solve complex challenges and support business leaders in achieving their goals. With a passion for innovation and a focus on results, Darien is committed to delivering impactful strategies that drive both short-term success and long-term growth.
In her free time, Darien enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Volare co-founder Joe Wilson, whom she met at their alma mater, Southwestern University. She is passionate about fostering positive community connections.
Volare Software is a small, responsive, 100% remote software consultancy.
Volare Software was founded by Joe Wilson and Darien Wilson, who are married to each other and have been our only full-time employees.
We started Volare Software, Inc. in 2009 in Denver, Colorado then moved to Hilversum, Netherlands in 2021, forming Volare Software B.V. Now we can serve clients under our U.S. 
or Euopean 
entity.
